St Huberts

St Huberts is a foundational pillar of the Yarra Valley wine industry, originally established in 1862 by Swiss immigrant Charles Hubert de Castella. His pioneering work was instrumental in proving the region’s potential for world class viticulture. While the estate faced a period of decline in the early 20th century, its replanting in 1966 was a catalyst for the Yarra Valley wine renaissance that followed in the 1960s.

About St Huberts

Located on the gently sloping valley floor of Coldstream just 50 kilometres east of Melbourne, St Huberts benefits from a classic cool climate and nutrient rich grey clay loam soils. Winemaker Greg Jarratt has led the production here since 2006, focusing on elegant varieties that define the estate. While Cabernet Sauvignon has long been the signature of the site, the portfolio also includes exceptional Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Roussanne, alongside contemporary additions such as sparkling rosé, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Blanc.

In 2022, the estate underwent a stunning architectural transformation. The site now features a state of the art cellar door, the lively Quarters restaurant, and a boutique wine store named Notes. This redevelopment has turned St Huberts into a premier tourist destination where guests can enjoy elevated tasting experiences while taking in expansive views across the historic vineyards.
