Greenstone Vineyards

Greenstone Vineyards is a boutique producer that operates across two of Victoria’s most prestigious wine regions, Heathcote and the Yarra Valley. This unique dual regional approach allows them to craft wines that are deeply reflective of specific soils and climates. Established in 2003 by industry experts David Gleave MW, Alberto Antonini, and viticulturist Mark Walpole, the winery initially gained fame for its Heathcote site. In 2015, the business expanded into the Yarra Valley by acquiring the historic former Sticks vineyard in Yarra Glen, adding 33 hectares of prime cool climate land to their portfolio.

About Greenstone

The Yarra Valley estate is tucked away at the base of the Christmas Hills and is home to high quality cool climate varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Petit Verdot. The vines grow in ancient silty loams over Silurian mudstones, a soil profile that naturally limits vine vigour and results in highly concentrated fruit flavours.

The team at Greenstone follows a winemaking philosophy centred on elegance, purity, and a true sense of place. By maintaining low yields and utilising sustainable viticulture with minimal soil disturbance, they ensure the land remains healthy and productive. Their hands off winemaking style allows the natural character of the fruit and the specific site to be the main focus. The Yarra Glen cellar door offers a tranquil and scenic setting just an hour from Melbourne, where guests can sample both the Heathcote and Yarra Valley ranges while enjoying local cheese platters and expansive vineyard views.
